about

The Leitrim Fancy / The Rambling Pitchfork / The Black Rogue (Jigs) **
The first two Irish jigs are widely played session favourites, the second title referring to itinerant farm labourers. The last tune’s title sounds odd to modern ears, but follows the Gaelic language and refers to hair colour. While it is commonly played in Ireland, it may have originated in south west Scotland in the early 18th century or even earlier.
