about

Paddy Fahey’s / The Humours of Glendart / Jackson’s Bottle of Brandy (Jigs) *
We tend to play this set of Irish jigs at the beginning of our sessions as an aid to warming up and settling in. The first tune is one of many associated with east Galway fiddler Paddy Fahey, while the second has many names. Glendart is in County Cork. The final tune is possibly linked to Walker ‘Piper’ Jackson, an 18th century uilleann piper from Limerick and is a variant on an old Scottish jig commonly known as The Campbells Are Coming.
